Another great day...7 years today

Checking in on my 7 years sober birthday..

As many of you have read..for me it's bitter sweet with the cancer situation we are currently in..and an update with that..docs consider my wife cancer free at this point but Monday we start the chemo regimen..6 events..one every 3 weeks then 25 rad shots 5 days a week for 5 weeks.

But we are positive and in about 23 weeks anticipate being 100% cancer free and SOBER

For those struggling with this affliction (alcohol addition) know that with determination, help and God's blessing you WILL beat this. Just put 100% of your strength and mind into it. For me it was extremely difficult as I was taking benzos to ease the coming down off the booze and not knowing the risk became addicted to the benzodiazapines...believe it or not that was worse than the alcohol...that was hell...so stick with it...occupy your mind with anything that works...sports..music..what ever and take it 1 second..1 minute..1 hour..1 day at a time and eventually you will have it beat..you need time on your side
and..
God Bless you all...see you in a year
