My experience has been I get more out of these sort of shares when the speaker focuses mostly on what happened (step work) and what he/she is like now (post step work) and not as much about the stories of what it used to be like.
Someone recently pointed out to me that it says "in a
general way". I used to share too many details of what it used to be like. Fun to hear maybe, but not as helpful or hopeful.
