I just did something I rarely do. I treated myself to a really good meal. So good I nearly cried. A new place opened around the corner from me. A Mi Estilo Pizza and Peruvian food. No I didn't want pizza. What's "parihuela"? Peruvian seafood soup. Ok, that, no cilantro. Scallions instead? Yes, please. And an $18 bowl of soup better be good.
Oh, Jesus, Mary, and Joseph. About a quart of heavenly tomato seafood broth full of veggies, shrimp, clams, squid, baby squid, a nice fillet of fish and a whole crab. A whole damn crab. Side of rice, some fresh limes, and homeade hot chili sauce. I was eating so happily the owners were smiling. Well worth the price.
