I tried Naltrexone. It definitely helped with cravings but made me dizzy / woozy so I decided I would just endure the cravings. Another option is Antabuse- makes you violently ill if you drink. Take it in the am before cravings begin. I MIGHT seek out a psychiatrist instead of a GP. The psychiatrist can help with identifying other things where you might be self medicating with the alcohol. Good luck. No one ever died of a craving but sometimes it feels like you will.
