Hey guys, I'm back! I tried to get to my detox meeting but got completely lost and just came home instead. On the bright side, I found a shortcut to work! I don't think it was worth me going anyway, the whole point was that I get help detoxing with Librium. I detoxed from home instead. I'll phone them up later and tell them this, I want them to give someone else my place ASAP if I don't need it.
I think I've got a bit of what AA call pink cloud syndrome, I start working through the steps with my sponsor in 2 days time so hopefully that won't be too detrimental. I feel great right now but I know things can get ugly really quickly.
OOTT - Day 30 is brilliant! Congratulations on reaching that milestone.
Karen - Keeping busy is a great thing as long as it distracts you from drinking. Get to meetings when you can, even if it's just once a week or once every couple of weeks. Do you work with AA? I find the daily reflections really helpful if I don't have time to get to a meeting. You can download an app or buy a book for it.
JL - Double digits! Well done!! I've consumed a lot of ice cream these past two weeks, I'm allowing the sugar cravings for now.
Optimist - I'm glad you're in a good place, and I hope you start to feel better soon. I had a stinking cold when I decided to quit, I think it actually got me through that first week!
360 - Congrats on reaching 25 days! It's great that you made it to a conference, we're so much more productive when we're sober, it's great.
Mel - Thanks for the link, it's really interesting, most articles only seem to cover the first few days of physical withdrawal. I like how that one goes beyond that.
Applekat - Great to hear from you! Keep checking back when you can.
