Hi KNB, I found Urge Surfing helped me immensely in the early days, following the thought of drinking through to its conclusion. Would I stop at one drink? Er... No! Would I stop at just drinking today? Er....No! Would I be in control of my life? ER....No! I came here because I had an unhealthy relationship with alcohol, basically I was not in charge, it was. And every time I thought of drinking, I knew that it wasn't me having the thought, rather it was AV whispering nasty temptations in my ear. Be Strong you are doing great.
SJ , good to see my favourite Puffin has 30 days! Yeppers, 30 days is a great time for AV to decide we can't possibly be alkies if we can go that long without a top up. Fact is if we weren't alkies, the thought of going that long or longer without a drink wouldn't even register. Normies don't count the drinks, or the days between them. Only alkies are obsessed with alcohol. Ergo, I am an alkie, albeit on in recovery and working daily to remain that way.
