The exercise excuse: drinking is not compatible with the kind and amount of exercise I do. My friends clearly understand this fact even without an explanation of the big picture. Most of my friends, if they knew the big picture reasoning, would start a big debate on the pros and cons of drinking which I would find upsetting and exhausting.
