Awesome, Lexie! I travel internationally often for pleasure, usually by myself. I've never had a bad experience except for meeting that (unbeknownst to me) addict who became my gf. Haha.
I have done Southeast Asia a couple of times and found it very cheap. Not sure which country you have your sights set on, but both Thailand and Cambodia are beautiful and extremely reasonable.
