Yes, it gets better the longer you're sober. It might be a good idea to see your doctor for medical help in getting thru the withdrawals. Alcohol w/d can be dangerous. Be safe.
Once you're thru the detox, make a plan for staying sober. I had the help of a good addiction counselor. I also came to this site every day for support.
