been doing lots of reading and looking through some of my old poems. Saw yours too Bobby boy :-)
Here's one of mine from 2 years ago
My brother , yes you are someone else's brother but you could easily have been mine.
When you were just a little boy , you didn't choose this path.
You had family , toast for tea, a nice warm watered bath
Your mother looked into your heart and saw her little boy.
she couldn't see what lay ahead ,let's find another toy.
I want to see you up and grow and make good of your life
Have family , be so carefree and take a lovely wife .
Where did you go my little boy for you are now a teen
Pretty girls , some with curls some few and far between.
My wayward son what have you done , for you found Chrystal meth
Please think of me your sister thee ,let this not cause your death.
Do you not know , we love you so , but care not as you may
For nothing we can say or do , will help you find your way l
But on deaf ears it took a hold , down devils lonely lane
What did you think , how could this be, a life marked full of pain.
Your skin doth crawl , your teeth do rot. Your looks are all barely there
What have you done my darling son, do you not know i care.
Love cannot help , it cannot free , it has to bide its time
For time alone is all you have ,now i must wait and pine.
Behind those walls there's nought but thought, remorse to tenth degree
But you will win , do good again and come back home to me
Your life is spared , you have your gift, forward will you pay
To make amends , to right wronged friends, you will have your day.
So look ahead , You are not dead for reasons you've been saved.
Your road ahead you warily tread in gold it will be paved.
Your second chance is here and now though you seem caged in hell
Take this time to contemplate and let it serve you well
You don't know yet what fate you've met , I'm sure its good and true
So in your heart , wont you make a start Help others just like you.
