Hmm, never owned an Audi Tooshabby so i'm not sure if my opinion particularly valid. I do own a VW which is a sort of "non designer" Audi I suppose
I completely agree that they look really good and Audi have a good reputation for build quality. They share a platform/ components from cheaper VW models which means they are not to costly to own and run (but still more than say a Ford or Toyota)
Three main engine types:-
1.8L 180bhp
1.8L 225bhp
3.2L 4 wheel drive
The 3.2L is a lot more expensive to own and run and not much quicker than the 1.8L 225. Only really worth buying if you do a lot of long distance driving, otherwise ignore
I prefer the 1.8L 225bhp as it is quicker and not massively more expensive than the 180bhp but either is fine
As with any car go for one with a good service history
