Hi gang. Snoozy, that must have been very shocking what happened with that patient. I hope he's ok. You sound as if you're coping and doing well. I think a visit with your dear friend sounds like a lovely idea. I'm feeling more and more that having good friends and keeping in touch is what sustains us in life and in sobriety.
For so long after Larry died, I've been holing up alone with booze, isolating, feeling I didn't want, nor need anyone. Wow, what rubbish! Like Barbra Streisand says, "people who need people are the luckiest people..."!
I'm so fortunate that my friends haven't given up in me!
I did a bit of a clear out of "stuff" in the basement on the weekend, so I'm bringing a lot of it to a charity shop this morning. I rediscovered a mini cassette that I recorded Larry reciting one of our favourite poems, just a few weeks before he died. I played it on an ancient phone answering machine device. Bittersweet.
Any techies out there who might know how I could get the mini cassette "changed" into a cd or something more permanent/sturdy? Those wee mini cassettes have a tendency to break/unravel and I'd hate to lose my sweet Larry's voice.
