I'm happy for you that you did that! They can easily treat for anxiety because that is the presenting symptom. Most doc's do understand our reluctance to have alcoholism in our records. That said, my doc did put it in my record and I haven't had any negative consequences. As you noted, it is often a huge relief to get it out in the open. I personally believe that the AV thrives on secrecy.
