Good morning Marchers. How lovely to say that to you in the morning with the windows wide open because it's heading for 22C -- yippee! I know winter isn't over yet but it's incredibly nice to have fresh air flowing through the house, sunshine spilling down warmly and to be here -- at rest -- after the past week.

I've been out in my "new" little blue car -- yes Sass, a Suzuki but 18 months younger than the black one -- to get groceries. Usually I don't shop on Sundays but today is a catch-up day -- washing (laundry), groceries, baking and cooking. I've got sourdough on the rise, regular wholemeal (wholewheat) on the rise and I'm about to make a blueberry chia loaf for morning teas this week.

Mr Marcher is doing well, he's making a steady recovery, the new drugs regime is wearing him out a bit but we take it a day at a time. He's already walking Marcher Dog half their usual mile walk, yesterday he worked for two hours, he's eating well and sleeping well.

It's been found their is a leakage in his aorta as well as the arrhythmia, we'll find out more in two weeks. All the specialists grin a bit because he's slender, doesn't smoke, eats well so they can't say lose weight, stop smoking. Importantly he's sense of humour is well intact as is his outlook.

Mum's survived all this pretty well, she had an off day yesterday but is more herself today.

I've surprised myself -- in a good way. I know I fire well when the adrenaline is running but even when it stopped I kept managing fine. One bout of tears and a delightful release by shouting at an idiot driver and I'm good.

This is a very "me" post I'm afraid. Thanks for being there peeps, knowing you are all here makes such a difference.

Have a good weekend and watch out for black ice!

ETA: Oh did I say about the black ice? On the night of the accident the police and the tow truck driver said that what happened along with the weather conditions played out as spinning on black ice, the assessor agreed on Wednesday.
