My Dad called me last night. It's been a year since we talked on the phone. He asked how we're doing, yadda, yadda ... I told him a few things going on, all good things really. And maybe 5 - 10 minutes in he decided it was time to wrap things up, and that was that.
I didn't have much of an emotional reaction to it at all. Kind of like trying to catch a stranger up on what's going on in your life at the moment. So odd.
Drinking never came up. Sobriety was never mentioned.
