Ok, I have a creme brulee story.

I was the bear den leader with my local cub scout pack some years ago. For one campout our den was supposed to make dessert. So I asked the kids what they wanted to make. One kid suggested "creme brulee!" and they all emphatically agreed.

So... I brought instant pudding (it didn't have to be authentic, after all) sugar and a blowtorch to camp. They made the pudding and I.... brulee'd... it. It was quite a production, involving singed paper bowls and quite a bit of time to make creme brulee for about 30 kids.

When it was all done, the kid that suggested it said "That's not creme brulee! Creme brulee is a kind of cake!"
