You did the right thing. Even if you could afford the vet, they might not have been able to save him. It's always hard playing God by putting an animal down, but I truly think you made the best choice. And karma will smile on you for even taking the time you did with this poor creature. Stay strong!
Thank you secretary, from the bottom of my heart. Even the vet said it was really the best choice. I just can't help but feel like I could've and should've done more. I can't imagine how lonely he was. He purred at me even as I tried to shoo him away. The ole heart strings are getting a workout today that's for sure.
