Somehow I don't find myself having any more $ than I did when I was drinking. I stress about it more, though. Like mecanix said, it's really the time I lost that gets to me. My 30's are gone with nothing to show for it. 10+ years just...gone. I'm like a fresh-faced 25 year old trying to figure out what the hell to do with the rest of my life. Except I'm in my 40's.

I was probably spending about $300 a month on booze, but then there were all the incidentals that went along with that: sports drinks (hangover hydration), delivery food, things bought because it seemed like a good idea in my alcoholic haze. Maybe $500 a month to keep my habit, all told.

So where does all this money go? Well, I've begun paying my back taxes because I was too useless to file for a number of years. Credit cards and student loans that I incurred while going back to school. Basically digging myself out of the financial hole that I'd dug for myself all those years. Adios, dinero! Anyway, feels good to be working my way out of it.
