Jeb Corliss is a pretty amazing person. He pioneered the evolution of wingsuits. His passion for base jumping and wingsuit flying is pretty admirable. He's only doing it to satisfy himself. He almost killed himself doing a low pass over a cliff. Recovered from a lot of broken bones and went right back to it.'

I would never consider anything that dangerous but I have gone skydiving twice. Tandem of course. It's actually very safe and amazing. It's something you replay in your mind basically forever. The natural rush stays with you for weeks. Anyone can do it.

To answer the common questions:

Do you actually have to do anything? nope

Does free falling actually feel like falling? nope. Feels like you stuck your head outside of a speeding car but the view is ridiculous and a sensational feeling.

Does it hurt when the parachute opens? nope. Don't even feel it. Goes from deafening roar from the wind to silence in seconds

Is landing hard? nope. Just lift your legs and skid on your butt. You can't land on your feet with 2 people tied together. You'll trip. So you skid painlessly with no noticeable impact

What if the instructor passes out or the chute doesn't open? There is a reserve chute will open automatically at a preset atlitude if the instructor doesn't do it first.

What's the scariest part? hanging halfway out of the airplane before you drop. You will be in front of the tandem. That part is a little scary but everything happens so quick you don't have much of a chance to dwell.

If you think you have it in you, put it on your bucket list. It's beyond words.
