with a friend about abuse
we were both victims
but we forgave our
perpetrators and that was
how healing began
the scars remain but
there is beauty in the torn
flesh of memory
we loved and trusted
but were betrayed by thoughtless
lust and confusion
cycles only end
through awareness empathy
and bold compassion
