Right all, now do I use porridge or gruel and do you understand what I am talking about.

The day at the crèche would start off with my mom dropping me off and having a chat with the caretakers (a middle aged couple) to ensure that I had not caused too much sh*t the day before. If there was indeed a huge sh*t lingering from the previous day, I would find out all about it that evening. My mom never ever forgot. Inside I would go and greet all my friends and foes. Before any playing could be got to, we had to eat breakfast. This would either be mielie pap, a ground maize porridge or maltabella, a porridge made from malted grain sorghum. Both these dishes were adorned with copious amounts of sugar; butter and milk. The accompanying drink would always be very sweet, milky tea. The energy and strength one gained from these dishes is quite unbelievable.
