The musician Sufjan Stevens is releasing a new album, titled "Carrie & Lowell," about his alcoholic mother and enabling step-father. She died last year of stomach cancer. He has an amazing interview here, where he talks at length about being the adult child of an alcoholic and how it has affected his life, faith, and art:

I listened to it today and it's quite good. It's a quiet, reflective album, very intimate. His recollections of his parents and the choices they made are quite kind and loving and compassionate.
Thought I would share.
Have an awesome day!
