Hi Everyone, Happy New Year, hope you’re all well, congratulations again on the marriage Tam and hope Sam pulls through the chicken pox Ready. I came across pictures of our two in the bath covered in spots a couple of months ago – pic was 5 years old but had forgotten how unpleasant it looks! Little one got it worse than the big one as I recall.

Christmas was a very quiet one, Mrs N has been wanting a Christmas as a 4 person family unit day for a few years now so after this year’s ups and downs I relented and we spent Christmas Day just the 4 of us mostly watching TV which was.. different. She's South African and none of her immediate family are over here so it can be abit "well I can't see mine so why should we see yours every year" which provokes a "well I didn't move halfway across the planet of my own volition" response from me (her moving over wasn't due to meeting me I hasten to add!).

As it’s our wedding anniversary the day after Boxing Day (11 years this year) I’d booked a trip up to York leaving lunchtime Boxing Day so family time was limited (we dropped the smalls off to my mothers Boxing Day and my brother, sister in law and father were coming up for lunch but due to the flight we only caught them for half an hour or so) but that might have been best given the Father’s input on that evening back in August.

My two had a friend each over for a sleep over on NYE which was glimpse into the future!

Got the early morning dark starts and the AV chuntering on about how I haven’t really got a plan for the future and I’m probably in the wrong job and where’s it all going anyway etc etc which I listened to and contributed to for a good half an hour before I recognised what was going on! It’s a very sneaky part of my head...

Happy Birthday Courage and Tam – sorry I missed the day :o)

Sonoran Desert looks like arid laughs aplenty Courage – have you checked out the museum? I can’t hear the words Tucson Arizona without the Under African Skies track from Simon and Garfunkel popping into my head.

As a result of a head hunt call I’ve got an interview tomorrow with a firm based much more locally, not sure what they’ve got to shout about so going along to see what they’ve got to say, the money’s a lot better and I won’t be spending up to £600 a month on train fare either so all good. I also went out for lunch with a customer of mine that’s keen for me to join him – again only based one junction (4 miles) along the motorway from my house. My reservations there are that the role he has is more for a generalist and I’m been trying to push / keep a more focused data specialism, still – nice to have options.

It’s now only a couple of weeks until my brother (and sis in law) move from North London to Sunny Surrey which is under an hour away and will mean we get to see a whole lot more of them – they should also start to breed once they’re in there two which will be exciting – he’s been an Uncle for years and I’m quite excited to be one :o)
