I think many people nowadays run from their pain as opposed to experience and accept it. Sitting with my sometimes very uncomfortable feelings has been a huge part of my healing process. She put into words things I've always felt and believed (since getting sober), but could never really articulate. At least not as well as she did in you post. I will be reading more.
