Yes, Mera..I have heard the Buckley version. I do believe he is actually credited with the arrangement that is now much covered version rather than Cohen's original arrangement.
Oh my gosh that "Alibi" song and video is powerful indeed.
Aside from the Cohen tune (in a wide variety of version's)...probably my favorite "recovery tune" is this Paulo Nutini song. It's actually about kicking his marijuana addiction (as that's what the bunny represents)..but I think that scary a*ss bunny could represent any substance addiction..or perhaps addiction.
