Something that has helped is realizing that the majority of DJs and producers spin this music in complete sobriety. It was created in sobriety and intended to be heard in that way by those who created it. Just because many drink and/or drug while listening doesn't change that. Therefore, I'm now getting far more out of the music then I ever did when drunk and/or high.
