It is NOT fair that our court system allows abusers access to their victims just because they have children together.
That is so true. The reasoning behind it is that children need both their parents and should not be punished because the parents can't get along. The judicial system has yet to understand that there
are legitimate situations where children
do not need both their parents -- that children are sometimes better off without an addicted or abusive parent.
