I'm just so angry for you! It is NOT fair that our court system allows abusers access to their victims just because they have children together. Not fair! In a perfect world, I would agree that you should go... but we don't live in a perfect world and you have to do whatever you need to do for your emotional well being. Put you and your children first and you can't go wrong - whether that's going anyway, staying home, or moving the party back to your house. At some point, you will want to take the power back from him but that time may not be now, so soon after the attack. I hope you have a really good therapist.
