Running Away from Friday Happy Hour

One of the big parts of my sobriety plan is to rediscover exercise and competition (haven't done much in over 2 years).

I didn't really plan this timing today, but the way my day shook out, I ended up starting my run around 5:30 pm.
The route I use goes through a park and on one stretch, on the other side of the street is a strip of restaurants and bars filling up with happy hour patrons. I'm pretty slow these days, so I had plenty of time to observe and think about all the times I had been across the street.
As I neared the end of the strip I had a chuckle that I was literally "running from the scene of the crime(s)!"

I think, whenever I can, I'm going to keep my Friday run in that time slot, just to keep that memory alive. Might not be a bad idea for those adding exercise into their programs to try to time it when you suspect you might be tempted.

I just wanted to share, thanks!
