I am grateful for my kids, who give me an abundance of hugs. Which means I am grateful for those hugs that can bring me back from the brink of tears and remind me why I chose to step out of the madness (I did this for them). I am grateful for my horses, who stand quietly with me and let me wrap my arms around their strong, majestic necks while I cry and never once have spooked from my sobbing, no matter what strange wails come out of me. I am grateful for my Great Dane who sleeps next to me at night, because that makes it not feel so empty when I am lying there staring at the wall trying not to think. And I am grateful for coffee...
