Epiphany of the Day - Sunday, December 29, 2013

I have to remember: Just because he's not using, doesn't mean he's in recovery.

Co-parenting with a "R"NAH is such a challenge. He wants to control every aspect of everything, then flakes out at the last minute for things like DD1's plays and DD2's softball clinics. Then freaks out that he feels he's not "getting the respect" he's "owed" by them.

Today, for ME...I am present and engaged in my commitments and my obligations to my children whether or not the "R"NAH is. I am detached from his behavior. I am fully able to support my children in their passions and endeavors. I am here for them and for myself, even though he is not.
