I am not sure about it being nothing to do with alcohol. I don't want to contradict medical advice but I had a doctor tell me that alcohol doesn't cause nerve damage as I was going through tests for peripheral neuropathy which turned out to be definitely caused by alcohol. .. maybe it would be worth getting some specialist help. A lot of alcohol addiction agencies have doctors on staff who are used to dealing with this sort of thing and can advise you how best to move forwards. They'll also have group sessions and one on one support.

I had vertigo bad when I was drinking but it cleared up when I got sober. I hope yours does too x
