That's awesome you did that. One of the things I am grateful for is that I now have a bench mark for my own behaviour, that is not dependent on another person.
Not that it is easy to maintain, all the time. My sponsor is HUGE on the idea that it is possible to behave well despite how others treat us.
In the last few years she introduced me to the concept 'if I eat it, I have to pay for it' as I have has issues with food so if I ever eat out and the waitress left something off the bill I would never say something but these days I do. I've had friends who've told me to forget about it but I always go back and pay. It really does make me feel good about myself.
