Half measure, THAT resonates with me.
In my mind, the difference there, is that trying to cut down, change places, switching from vodka to beer, THOSE are half measures.
That is what I meant by half measures. I would come up with a new one and for a few days or weeks I would drink less. Not the ultimate solution, but better than continuing with no interruption at all. I would also learn from them that my problem was greater than I had believed. From my perspective, that availed me
something.
