I know how you feel. I remember wanting to be a want to be too.
I took Valium for 15 yrs along with the alcohol to cover my depression and suicidal tendencies. The only treatment that I found that got me sober, sane and serene was/is Alcoholics Anonymous. I have not needed alcohol or meds since 1989.
