OMG, yes, me too. I got up that morning, after 2 bottles of wine previous night, got ready and was 3 mins down the road driving and started shaking, stopped the car and knew I'd not make it on motorway. Called in sick! Got home and thought okay that's it, I've got to do something (been blacking out a lot previously) and this scary 3 minute drive was the moment I knew I had to do something!
Reluctantly I looked up AA meetings, planning to attend that day. I was scared to go but was going to force myself. In my search I came across this site and was hooked. I too could not believe there were people like me. I thought I was the only one?? Instant connection. I too don't know if I would have made serious attempt to give up the booze without this site. I will be forever grateful for scary drive and calling in sick that day, which led me to find this site.
