Talking 6 months yesterday!!!

I still suck at getting to meetings, I still struggle sometimes. But it is so much better. Here's what I've learned so far about/in recovery. Just my opinions and some things I've learned that I wanted to share. They apply to life in general as well!
  • Feelings pass and can be endured
  • Consistency is key to success
  • Life is all about inertia and momentum
  • You are stronger than you think
  • One day at a time
  • You will never be "ready" to do something difficult; just start, and go on from there
  • Sitting still is better than moving backwards
  • Life in addiction is a cycle of desire that never leads to fulfillment or satisfaction
  • Mental illness is not all bad
  • Community and individuality in balance
  • Cravings pass quicker when you talk about them with someone
  • Life without alcohol and drugs is not only possible; it's enjoyable

Thank you everyone for being here
