It wasn't the height of the heel--they were not much higher than the boot--rather, they were thong-type sandals with nice soft cushiony soles, but the heel they did have was such that if your foot slid a bit to one side or the other (since they were open in the back with no straps), the whole shoe tipped to the side.

I'll try to get back on the horse once my injuries have healed. It wouldn't do to develop a shopping phobia!
