Wow, this is incredibly sad. You do not have to decide your entire future in one moment. If she recovers enough to live independently, that's one future. If not, different choices will need to be made.
I truly sympathize with the terrible position you are in, and I know what it feels like to have my friends and family not understand my having compassion for my A.
