Our Girls love their crates too! They each have their own but they share a bedroom. They also eat in there. I feed RAW so I have to lock them in to keep them seperated. lol If they look at each other while eating, you hear crunch, crunch, crunch, growl. Usually, they feel pretty comfortable with an occasional growl... more lip smacking n bone crunching than anything. I love asking them if they are ready to eat! They get so excited to see the meat clever n cutting board coming out!
