I find out that i can do lots of recovery thinking
when im outside while gardening. Of course never
did I think id be doing that because i dont consider
myself having a green thumb when it comes to
planting.
However, i found the Secret To My
Success. Hmmm, that's the name of a Movie, right?
That secret is, Root Stimulator or Starter. Oh, and
Miracle Grow soil.
Thank you Ranger for sharing you story. I enjoyed
reading your own success in ur marriage and becoming
a first time dad.
Family intervened on me 8 yrs into my marriage and
my littles ones were 6 and 4. I too raised no flags
during my drinking and family is still in question
whether I ever had a drinking problem. I did the
normal mom and wife duties and drank, like a lady,
so to speak. With always worrying what others
would think about me, i was always on alert to
not make mistakes.
That of course caught up with me real fast as
the progression of my alcoholism increased
after I hit a concrete culvert in Feb. 1990
and healed nicely with no alcohol till August
1990 when i took that first drink again and
tried to end my life because i was so restless,
irritable and discontent in life.
The flag flew high that August 10 when family
called authorities to pick me up and take me to
rehab. Of course 21 yrs in recovery, I can honestly
say, that was one of the best things in my life to
happen to me.
Raising little ones and getting them out the door
with little to no trauma in their lives is an accompliment
and blessing as i used my recovery program and
Faith to guide me and strengthen me during
their growing yrs.
Positive things do come out of our lives when
a recovery program is a part of it.
