Hi, Im Sharon and Im an Alcoholic.
It's a beautiful clear Spring morning here in
Baton Rouge, Louisiana. As I filled my bird
feeders and pulled a few weeds, music playing
on my radio a favorite song, and thoughts of it
I recall playing many yrs. ago on my way home
early one morning after i spent the night with who
knows who because i had an arguement with
my spouse the night before.
That use to me my way of getting away at
night so i could go to the clubs, drink, listen
to music and be free to do whatever i wanted
at the time.
"Im Forever Yours Faithfully," by Journey was
the song and i knew from the shame and guilt
and fear of staying out over nite away from my
husband would forever be imbedded in my brain
for yrs to come and would eventually take its toll
on me where I used alcohol to numb it.
I wanted to be faithful and honor my wedding vows
but my drinking had plans for me otherwise. It took
away the honesty and trust in our marriage for many
years before during and after my drinking.
Fast forward, my marriage did last 25 yrs raising
2 awesome talented loveable kids grown and gone
and both my spouse and i remarried.
Today, Im forever Yours, Faithfully is still my favorite
song and in my heart, mind and soul my Journey is
honest and Im completely FAITHFULL not only to my
husband by also to the Man Upstairs as I am Forever
Faithfully His.
