Yep, I have four cats and two dogs (I like animals more than most people.) When I got sober last summer it was more for my animals than me - I had absolutely no respect left for myself, but man, do I love those animals. I guess whatever works.
My dogs and cats are a lot happier since I have been sober. They can sense when things aren't right.
Remember how you feel right now next time you want to drink. I am sorry.
