There is a difference between _length_ of recovery and _depth_ of recovery. If they _should_ know better than you, but they don't, then maybe the one with the greater _depth_ of recovery is not them.

I've had meetings where people left, and the "feel" of the meeting changed. Sometimes I made an extra effort to be the one that became more welcoming. I made some good friends that way. Other times I decided to shop around and find other meetings. I found some very good meetings by doing that.

And then there's been times when I just started a new meeting. Some of those meetings grew, a lot of new people arrived, the meeting became wonderful, time went on, people left, the meeting changed, and then I left for other meetings, or other cities.
