quitforme - I understand exactly how you felt hearing that song. Things like that happened to me every time I considered quitting. It would be - oh, I can't ever give it up entirely - I'll just cut down. It was that way of thinking that kept me drinking into my 50's, and all but destroyed my life.
You've done a great thing by facing the truth about alcohol. You'll never crash & burn later in life like many of us did. Yet there will be those times when you'll remember only the fun that it was - & you'll feel that you're missing out. The feelings will lessen as time goes on, though. At first they're quite intense, but we replace the longings with other things, and we learn to live again in a new way. Proud of you for coming here to talk about it! Hope it helped.
