You have discovered the magic of the "rooms".
I was surprised, when I found my own meetings, was it wasn't "random" situations, emotions, or behaviour. I expected to meet people who had been where I was, but I didn't expect to connect so quickly, or to see myself in their stories and readings.
For me, my recovery is best when it includes those who went before me, those who have shared my time on this path, and newcomers walking through the door. Those who went before me bring wisdom of experience and patience. Those who share my time on the path are my soulmates as we walk together. And the newcomer walking through the door brings me a fresh perspective, a reminder of where I came from and that I must be diligent to keep from sliding back, and most of all the newcomer brings me an opportunity to give back all that was so freely given to me.
Each time I read something like your post here, I feel so good that one more person has found the magic. It's there for everyone, but we must each find it for ourselves. Sounds like you did.
