Anxiety increases in early recovery due somewhat to the surge in adrenaline caused by both post-cessation hypoglycemia, and the sympathetic nervous system dysfunction of the HPA axis. Avoid over-stimulating the sympathetic nervous system and attempt to maintain a hypoglycemic diet.
