For those who don't know, "Playing It By Heart" is again Melody Beattie sharing her life, and she tells through back flashes stories of her growing up in an addictive home and being the victim of sexual abuse. Also, she discusses her years as an addict (and she was as addicted as they get!) and her recovery.
It helped my understand more about addiction than anything I have read, and it made me so very grateful that this wonderful woman lived to write all her great codependency books.
It's a "must read" for sure.
