Love this thread! There was once a thread that went around here about all addicts going by the same "handbook" and it read a lot like this will all the familiar excuses and statements. Still sounds like they are all reading the same handbook.
The last thing my AD said to me before she took off with AB and our granddaughter was:
"if you had only helped me when I REALLY needed it..."
Yup, I bet THAT was what did it! Gee, if we'd only known!
