When we went NC with my BIL, there was a subsequent contact where my DH tried to talk to my BIL about his problem in an intervention. The backstory is that we are no contact because he shoots heroin. Anyway, here are the recent whoppers.
"I don't have a problem" (right, you shoot heroin - non-addicts shoot heroin all the time here in Crazytown!) followed by
"I do drugs because you guys hurt me so badly by not letting me see the kids" (Facepalm! We went NC because he shoots drugs. In the real chronology of events shooting drugs came *before* the NC position, not after!)
